ABOUT SOUND STUDIO PUBLICATIONS

Sound Studio Publications was founded in New York City in 1983.  The first publication (a book entitled, "Getting Into The Jingle Business") was an immediate success and was adopted as a text by many colleges for their commercial music curricula.  This title is sold out.

The next publication was a commissioned work entitled, "Interludes for Percussion & Trumpet."  This piece was premiered by percussionist Michael Englander and trumpeter G. Burnette Dillon at the 1985 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Los Angeles, California.  "Interludes" has enjoyed brisk sales for many years, was featured on a Chicago Symphony chamber music concert in 2004, and has been recorded on Equilibrium Records (CD-58) "Old News" by trumpeter Stephen Dunn and percussionist John Pennington.

"Brass Trio (1988)" soon followed - 1st Place winner of the International Horn Society Composition Contest in 1989 and premiered at the annual convention in Munich, Germany.  It was featured on BBC Radio for several years and was recorded on CD by Finland's TRIO PUHALLUS on Jasse Records.  TRIO PUHALLUS's recording of this composition is featured on the Wrightwood Records CD, "Piercing The Celluloid Veil."

A constant flow of new works for brass, woodwinds, strings, percussion, concert band, jazz band and more have been generated by Sound Studio Publications' principals Marilyn Harris and Mark Wolfram.  Please check back for more information regarding new titles that are being added to the catalogue on a regular basis.  And thank you for your interest in Sound Studio Publications.
